About This Station

The current and historical data used on this website is generated from an Oregon Scientific WMR968 weather station located on the property here in Cole Harbour. The data is collected every 3 seconds and the site is updated at least once per minute. The data is collected, calculated, compiled, delivered to the website, and archived, using Weather-Display Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and thermo-hydro sensors located in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.
All forecast and weather advisories on the site are courtesy of Environment Canada. Other data not measured by the station such as Marine bouy conditions, Tropical Systems, Hurricane tracking and advisories are provided by NOAA, Weather Underground, and the National Hurricane Center (Miami). US conditions and Summary/Outlook Video Feeds are courtesy of Hamweather.net.

About Halifax - Our Regional Municipality

Probably the best way to find out more about our home city is to visit the Halifax Visitors website. Our city is best known for it's rich seafaring history, and of course events that were to leave impressions engrained in our memories such as the sinking of the Titanic, the role we played as a naval port in both World Wars, and of course most infamously, The Halifax Explosion, the largest accidental (manmade) explosion in history. Today, Halifax is a vibrant city, actually a municipality of communities, rich with culture, activities, and events hosted by Canada's friendliest residents!

About This Website

Our website is powered by an off the shelf Apple Mac Mini (Intel Core2Duo) that also serves as the family's webserver, Media Server, mail server, Home Automation Server, and security video server.
The Weather section of the website uses a template design by CarterLake.org with PHP conversion by Saratoga-Weather.org
